Out of Darkness operates a 24/7 rescue hotline that can be called anytime day or night by anyone wanting help in leaving “the life".

 

The hotline respondents are volunteers who have been trained to answer calls, assess each situation, offer encouragement, and walk through a brief intake process.

 

If the caller is interested in leaving the life through our program,

our hotline respondents then work to coordinate with a Rescue Team to pick up and transport her to the safe home.

Requirements:

Volunteer recommended minimum age is 18 years old and is for women only.

 

The full Out of Darkness training is required in order to join the Hotline Responders Team, and volunteers must also submit an Out of Darkness volunteer application and background check.

 

Once you have attended the training and your application has been processed, you will also be asked to do an interview with one of our staff or lead volunteers so that we can get to know one another better and also to answer any questions you may have.
