Out of Darkness operates a 24/7 rescue hotline that can be called any time day or night by anyone wanting help in leaving “the life.”
The hotline responders are volunteers who have been trained to answer calls, assess each situation, offer encouragement, and walk through a brief intake process.
If the caller is interested in coming through our program, our hotline responders then work to coordinate with a Rescue Team to pick up and transport her to the safe home.
Volunteer recommended minimum age is 18 years old, and this team is for women only.
The full Out of Darkness training is required in order to join the Hotline Responders Team, and volunteers must also submit an Out of Darkness volunteer application.
Once you have attended the training and your application has been processed, you will also be asked to do an interview with one of our staff or lead volunteers so that we can get to know one another better and also to answer any questions you may have.
